A-Pillar weatherstrip?

Anybody know where I can find the correct weatherstrip to replace the worn out ones on my interior A-pillar mouldings?

Re: A-Pillar weatherstrip?

AFIK it's not available. It's not really a model specific part. It's just a flat strip of foam rubber. They didn't even glue it down much at the factory since it's not really a weather seal, just keeps stuff out of the a pillar trim when the window is down.
You can use almost any generic rubber strip there.

Re: A-Pillar weatherstrip?

what stealtht/a said, take a piece to a local hardware store and match it up as close as you can, most people buy the smaller sized garage door seal, as it is angled and only has the adhesive on half of the strip

Re: A-Pillar weatherstrip?

No, it's not the triangle rubber. Caveman305 and StealthT/A know what I'm talking about. I have some replacement a-pillar trim pieces but they all have cracked rubber. If it didn't show some when the car door is open I wouldn't fool with it. I have looked but so far could not find something similar enough to work well. I will try looking for the smaller garage door seal. That sounds like it might work. Thanx guys!

Re: A-Pillar weatherstrip?

i got what your looking for...

it was hard to dig up somthing. to fill the Void. (thats all GM did) fill a Void.

after lots for digging looking and trying things this is what works the best in looks and fit.

you will have to add a STRIP of the 3M thin tap to it (see pics)

after its on it will lay just as the other stuff GM used. and fit the same.. 100%

Size: 115.8 KB

you can get it from any NAPA parts store

after you install the A Piller plastic the fit will look just like it did from GM..
what i wanted it to do was fit 100%. i have had my car from the day it left the dealer. i i just found the cracks in the void seal they used. this is the only thing i found that will sit and stay and push out just a itty bitty bit. just as GM used.

yes it's not shaped the same...you could take the time to cut out the back so you have the V shape of the real GM stuff. but ya dont have to. all your doing is filling the Void... one bag will do both sides.
your A piller plastic will be marked as to placement. start to finnish (mine was) add just a tad bit more looks better when on..

Re: A-Pillar weatherstrip?

That's not too thick arctic Z? Doesn't hold the trim part out? Seems a lot thicker than what was there before.

Re: A-Pillar weatherstrip?

I've ordered a 20' roll of that weatherstrip so I'll let you know if I have the same good luck as articwhiteZ did.

Re: A-Pillar weatherstrip?

Ameriseal 11000 is not sold many places and you get more than you need. Once I do mine I'll probably have enough left for another card. LMK if interested in the leftover.

Put me at the top of that list please, I'll take what you have left if it will do another car!

Thanks!

Re: A-Pillar weatherstrip?

the generic under hood seal works fine as well. can be picked up at AZ or one of the others and comes with the tape strip already on.
