I have a 1990 T-Top Firebird. In the rear I have found and attached the the front hook for the T-Top bag. Unfortunately the rear trim panel is from a non T-Top car. There are no hooks for the T-Top bags in the rear panel. Does any one have a picture or a diagram of how the hooks are attached? I think I will need to go to a junkyard to get these but want to know what is involved.

 

There should be two brackets welded to the sheetmetal behind the trim panel.This is where the "hooks" would attach, so the straps can secure on.If your lucky, they might be there already & you may just need to cut the slots on the trim piece.

 

My rear brackets are screwed in, easy to replace if they aren't there. The junkyard or EBay should have them.

 

Brackets welded to the body structure.
Short bars screwed to the bracket, just like the front bars screwed through the carpet.
Rear plastic panel has a slot cut for each bar to poke through.
The hooks on the bag hook on the bars.

 

Guess I considered the short bars the brackets. If it's a T-top, the mounting straps should be there.

 

Back to the original problem... either find a T-Top rear trim panel, or cut slots in the panel your have.

 

On the back of the plastic panel should be a outline of the area to cut out for the metal straps to stick out of. IIRC.

 

I have the brackets welded to the back wall. Just missing the cut outs and the hooks. Found a set with the bolts on EBay. should be here in a week or so. Thanks for confirming what I was looking at.
