speedometer help

Hey, guys! I have an '87 formula. I got an instrument cluster from Hawks for the speedo 'cause my odometer doesn't work. The speedo in this cluster is cable operated. I don't have time today to disassemble my dash today and I can't see a cable going through the firewall, but there does seem to be what looks like a wire bundle going through a grommet. I have electronic cruise control. Any chance I have an electronic speedo?

Re: speedometer help

I believe that electronic speedos came out with the '86 model, so yes, you most likely have an electronic cluster. I own an '85 and it has the cable operated speedo. My cruise is also electronic as there is a frequency generator on the speedo head for that.
