interior lights doubts
Hi guys
I was wondering why those interios (see images) are so stupendously well-lighted. I pointed out some questions inside an image.
An important question is:
1- why in the pictures the dash is so highly illuminated? Is it a hack or is it stock stuff?
2- is the first pictures the front lights controls are illuminated somehow. Is it a stock light?
3- why does it seem to be some interior red lights too??
DAMN COOL light

THANKS
bye

Re: interior lights doubts
wow the steering wheel lights up ?!
i had no idea that lights up...now i have to get one.I'm one of the few weird people who like the 90's air bag steering wheel. Now i want one with the radio control :/
is that the 445miles Trans Am from Ebay? Thats a amazing car ....60k$ expensive and amazing.
anyway ,yes the interior light and headlights controls should be under a orange light. The Speedometer's light can be set with that wheel how bright should be.

Yes, it's the marvellous 445 miles eBay T/A
It has extremely beautiful interior lights.
My interior lights are already at the maximum level. I'm going to post a picture of my interiors in the opening thread, have a look

check here
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...ed-guages.html

there are people who used blue LEDs...pretty sure any LED's work so you dont have to order them from US.The lightbulbs for the dash are kinda like LEDs so makes the upgrade easy plus I dont think you can burn LEDs like normal lightbulbs. You can change all the lights inside your cars with LEDs so you will never have problems with that again. The gas to go buy them will cost more than the damn lights
What i dont know is if you get the same shade of orange.I like to have my stuffs as close to original as possible so matching the orange can be tricky.
maybe you should check the fuses first .I see some switches dont light up (defrost ,truck ) and the AC control is very dim.

Re: interior lights doubts
thank you.
I already have in plans to change al bulblight with led lights, both interior and exterior. I don't like blue lights, I'll go for an orange/red tint like the originial setup, but surely more lighter/powerful. Finding piece wont be a problem here. Perhaps a problem will be to open the dash
Thanks for the link, I'm reading them tomorrow.
Finally, was the interiors of the two pictures I put hacked???

The second pic is a Turbo Trans Am cluster.I have no idea what's that over the turn signals thingy.
Your cluster seems faded or some lights died over time. Now in real life it wont be that glowy like in those pics...guess thats photoshop work there ...I dont remember having the dash glow that much so its hard to judge from pics.
The dash is easy to remove/clean.You dont need to take it all apart ,just the front plastic ,slide it up between dash pad and steering wheel and you can take out the whole cluster in one piece like this http://www.planetjupiter.com/transam...0b-gauges.jpeg

Re: interior lights doubts
The TTA appears to have LED upgrades. Yours has a couple bulbs out.
Personally I think the LED are too bright for night driving in the guages. If you get all the bulbs working yours will be fine. Stock firebird stereos had red lightings, Camaros had green. Those bulbs are a little harder to replace.
#1 is a lamp outage module on cars that have that system, might be exports only, on others it is a white light that illuminates the dimmer. Some have no light there.
I like to replace the white overhead dome light and footwell lights with red LEDs. Those bulbs tend to get hot and melt the housings and red interior lights complete the fighter cockpit look of the firebirds.

Re: interior lights doubts
Thanks stealtht for replying
Ok let's suppose some bulbs are out. Is there any scheme to check now many bubls and where they are? I don't know the firebird dash in detail at all :/
So at least you're assuring me that there is a place for a lamp/led. I mean, even if I dont have it, I can put it
That's a good idea! Do you have some pictures for me to see the result? I've never thought about putting total red interior lights. It sounds great is this type of car

Re: interior lights doubts
I cant find a scheme with all the bulbs and details but at least you get a idea how bulbs look and how the dash looks. Those bulbs/leds are pretty cheap and common so if you dont know how many you need get a hand full (new unit of measure
)
I dont know how to match the orange thou. The only thing thats kinda weird is that I never had to change the ones from the cluster. The only bulbs i had to change in the entire car were the headlights ,turn signals and those bulbs in the foot area ...those things get so hot for some reason.
