4th gen console install
Not getting into will it fit or anything like that. I have researched, I used search lol. But my question is how well does the firebird radio pod mount to a 91-92 dash? Does it bolt up or will I have to fabricate anything?
All the pics or installs I can find are people putting a new console in a firebird, so the pod is already in. Or they are installing the fourth gen dash as well.
I have no problem with fabrication, I'd just like to get a parts list going to have it all ready before I tear apart my wife's car. Don't want it down for to long.
I've got the pod and console, I'm talking about specifically brackets and hardware wise.
I'd tear it out and figure it out myself but it's her daily driver, and she's not fond of driving my Bronco at all, so Im trying to keep it quick.
I know the sticky is in the body section but I figured this was more an interior thing. And the sticky didn't have what I was looking for.

Re: 4th gen console install
Alright well after much hacking and fabrication and cussing and broken, then replaced parts, and cut knuckles my pod and console are in the car. I refused to use a manual surround for the auto. So I did some heavy modification to the base of the shifter assembly and the mount points on the trans hump. So there is no going back without buying another shifter assembly and fabricating new mounts on the floor.
I had to enlarge the hole for the shift cable towards the direction of the back of the car more so the cable wasn't jammed at a funny angle, as well as pull the key lock cable out of the mounts and re route it to reach.
The only thing I have left to do is make a more professional looking gear indicator, but the one I made for now was for anyone else who happens to drive it that doesn't have the order memorized.
I also relocated the window switches to just below the radio with an old door lock button plate.

The radio surround is a quick made temp until I make a nicer one as well. And yes I need to scrub the whole thing. The pic makes I look so much dirtier lol
