Removing drain plug mats and coating floor boards

Hello everyone, I'm trying to prep the interior floor boards of my GTA to put down a paint/bedliner coating and sound deadener on the floor, but I can't seem to get off the matting that covers drain plugs. I tried using a razor, gasoline, and goof-off, but none of them really worked. The goof-off worked on little tiny chunks, but not enough to really help. How do you guys remove these, and after painting the floor boards, what do you use to seal the plugs?

Also what do you guys use for a floor coating? I thought about painting it, but figured using a bedliner would be easier and more durable, and it would hold up to water if my t-tops leaked. I was going to go with this Duplicolor spray-on bedliner:

I used paint stripper. Plain gel type from homedepot, followed directions and used a metal scrapper/putty knife. Came off effortlessly!

I'll give the paint stripper a try. I thought about using a wire wheel but the padding would frizzle and mess up the wire.

Do the drain plugs need to be resealed with anything?

That sounds like a really good way to get the stuff off. I'll give that a try. What'd you coat the floor with?

I scuffed with 100 grit put rust killer primer over any bare spots and then Duplicolour truckbed coating. I dumped a can of laquer thinner to thin it out and on it went with a foam roller and I used the spray can for hard to reAch areas. Came out nice I did 2 coats. It's not crazy thick but my floors were in pretty nice condition for a Canadian car it only got driven 2 winters in its life.

Agreed with heat and a scraper. I personally am using a hand held propane torch. Once it's warm it comes right off.
