So years ago I pulled out my interior and much of those parts I really didn't look at. I am just now finally getting the car back together and I found something interesting. When I removed the front stalk covers I found my receivers had webbing that did not match my seat belts. It appears either QC was not what it should have been, or most likely they were already starting to just use up inventory. My car was built in November of '91 as a '92 model. You can clearly see the passenger's side is a red of some sort and the driver's side is more of a blue/gray. The rears are the correct gray of the belts. If it were just one receiver I might think it was just a replacement, but both are wrong.
I know there was a seatbelt recall but I am not aware of it affecting '92 models. Perhaps the dealer just went out and replaced all them in all cars with whatever they could get. Just another quirk I guess!
Rears are always the correct color because they dont have the plastic sleeve covering them.I have noticed that most of the front ones do have different color webbing than the buckle color. This applies to most years so its not just a 92 thing

To me this is an interesting deviation as I work for CAT in engineering and something as simple as a substitution like a similar plastic plug requires tons of signoff. This seems like they told the supplier "we don't care what you use for the front belts". The print for the parts must not have had any call out as that usually ties both our and suppliers hands on what they can do
