Hello from a newbie.

Hello, ive been lurking for a while and thought it a good idea to join the forum.
The question I have, Im sure, has been answered before but I just cannot find it on a search.
The question is 'What other GM vehicles from the 3rd gen era would have had steering wheels that would fit my 88 Formula?
I know it seems like a stupid question but Im in the UK and the breakers yards and specialists are not that well stocked on Firebirds, my steering wheel is looking a little tired and, well, some lateral thinking may give me a wider choice in a search.
Ive just fitted some leather front seats ( rears to be adapted ) from a Hyundai Coupe ( Tiburon) and Id quite like a nice leather steering wheel to match.
All advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Hello from a newbie.

Most 1969-early 90s GM steering wheels will fit, so you just need to look for something you like. I used a 1984-87 Firebird steering wheel in my '91, looks a lot better than the 1988-89 and 1990-92 airbag wheels. Sunbirds usually share the same steering wheels, so those are good cars to look at. I'd say Fieros too, but those are usually even harder to find than F-Bodies.

Re: Hello from a newbie.

grand ams, right before they started putting in airbags. I know my 91 grand am that I had in high school, looked like them. I'm sure most other late 80s-91 Pontiacs without an airbag should work and look like stock.

Re: Hello from a newbie.

Hi,
I found a mint Cavalier wheel in the bone yard that fits perfect. I believe the early 90's wheels will fit. See attached photo.

Re: Hello from a newbie.

Great question and I really like the steering wheel above.
If anyone has one for sale, for the right price, I'm a buyer.

PLEASE --- someone find me this steering wheel. I love it.
Nothing on ebay.

If this is the wheel, I need the center horn button.

Re: Hello from a newbie.

This might be a dumb question, but have you considered an aftermarket wheel like Grant?

Re: Hello from a newbie.

I saw those, but sadly, they are for a different steering wheel that has what looks like tubular spokes.
