Non AC heater control help

I've searched and could only find AC related posts to the problem I'm having.

My car is non A/C so everything is cable operated. I'm unable to switch from floor to defrost. I try to move the slider and it get stuck half way. Sounds like it's jamming somewhere in the dash.

How/where is the flapper that controls the air. I'd like to get my defrost to work. I don't want to rip the whole dash out.

Thanks in advance.

Jake

Re: Non AC heater control help

Most likely your cable is kinked or loose and not allowing the cable to operate like it should.

What's the best way to get at where the cables go?

You have to take the control panel out(the only way) and follow that cable.

That's amazing! I can't thank you enough.

I've already got the console out to repair the floors, figured this would be the best time to fix the heater controls.
