NAH!
Mice can JUMP so that few inches off the ground won't deter them from
finding a safe place with plenty of nesting material in your car.
I use spring traps baited with p-nut butter and check them often along
with a barn cat!

Creating a perimeter of sticky traps 12" from the car is full-proof. It takes 77 traps @ 8" long each for a third gen. Check and replace occasionally! Also catches a lot of other things that you didn't know were going for the car.

Oh yeah they can. I have chipmunks in the yard due to oak trees. I have watched them jump from the ground to the top of the 17" tires on my Suburban.
I like glue trap myself. The big rat sized ones. I like these...made in the USA.

Mice are incredibly crafty critters. Let me know how the bucket set up works. The only thing they can't out smart are glue traps.

Fill the bottom of the bucket with anti freeze windshield fluid. Cheaper than coolant, still drowns mice.

Re: How to keep mice out of your car!!!
I've been dealing with mice in my new garage, I've caught a good amount inside the garage but the trap I put in the car hasn't caught anything. I've found that the Victor trap that John In RI posted aren't sensitive for the mice I'm dealing with, they get the bait right off it without triggering it. I found a different style Victor trap at home depot that triggers if you look at it the wrong way and caught way more.
I would gladly do the glue trap perimeter but I just can't bring myself to let the poor little guys suffer on them

I use dryer sheets and haven't had any problems. Before I tried the dryer sheets they wreaked havoc under the hood of my Monte Carlo one winter. On the other point I'm pretty sure mice can jump as high as a bucket I don't think what they showed in video would work

I have had great luck with mothballs under the hood and on top of tires. But the dryer sheet sounds interesting and less stinky. I will try that this winter.

I had a old house torn down near my property mice all over .. have tarps storing my outdoor grounds equipment.. mice all under those tarps .. my camaro is lifted off ground but I did see mice under the hood. had moth ***** and the scented sheets did not help on all these outdoor covers also.. so I put out the rat bait. well that took care of those critters found about 20 dead mice all over my lawn .. checked under all and no more activity..

Good thing you picked up the dead mice and disposed. This last year lost both of our cats. One to a dog (cat was an excellent mouser) and the other to rat poison. This winter purchased mouse traps and lost count of how many mice I have disposed of. More than a dozen. Need to get another good cat.

Use half cooked bacon instead of peanut butter, works much better in a trap!
