New seat covers from Lethal Interiors - stock 1987 style
Princess did a FANTASTIC job with my seat covers and made perfect reproductions of the originals using the proper, original cloth from SMS. She was also awesome to deal with and now consider her a friend and not just a business acquaintance. She was incredibly helpful in offering advice and support during the installation process which I did myself. I can't speak highly enough of her and her work. Now, I just need to get after those door panels and the interior will look as new again.
I'd highly suggest new foam with new seat covers. I have to admit I sort of questioned whether it was necessary or not as I struggled with whether to order it or not/ Thankfully, I did. Once you sit on the new seats with the new foam and realize how supportive they are compared to your deteriorated 30-year old seats you'll be glad you did.

Fantastic! Reminds me I need to get off my butt and get a bit of the cloth to have my driver's seat fixed. About the only flaw left in my Iroc's interior, at this point, and I'm scared of the sticker shock.
Now you NEED to fix the door panels.

I did install them myself with a few pointers from Princess. I'd gladly pass along a few tips also to anyone wanting to do their own. I would call myself an advanced do it yourselfer though I haven't done any upholstery work before. Princess's flawless covers make the job pretty straight-forward

Drew - you might find your 1987 fabric is wayyyyyyyyyyy faded. My original seats from my 78k mile mile care very very light gray bordering on a grayish-white. You can see how mine are now dark gray. The original fabric faded that much.. see the pic below

The new seats look like a perfect match to the prefaced fabric..
Those 87 door panels were always tough.. My 87 with 26k back in the 90s looked the same.. I always wanted to swap out to these because they seemed to hold up better..
Love the 87 seats though..

Re: New seat covers from Lethal Interiors - stock 1987 style
Yeah, that thought has crossed my mind. I know from first hand experience that my Iroc has been sitting in a garage under a cover since 1998, so fading shouldn't be too much of an issue. Bummer is the holes in my seat cover are from one of the springs embedded in the seat foam bolster, that cracked and poked a hole. Drew blood a few days after I got the car.
On the door panels, I just peeled back the existing cloth, applied 3M Trim Adhesive spray glue (Kidnapper Van, Not Vinyl Roof) and carefully pressed the cloth back into place. Still holding strong months later. Now if I could just gather the energy and the initiative to back the car out of the garage and finish adjusting the windows, I could put them back in the car. Don't judge me, I've got a lot of projects. LOL

Your door panels look closer to the color of my "before" pics than the "afters". Not sure I was clear but Princess used NOS 1987 vintage fabric. It isn't reproduction or something "close". It's the real stuff and the backside of the fabric was stamped with 1186 for November 1986. Long time to be on the original rolls, ehh?

We're on the same page. I'd be a bit worried that if I just had the damaged part of the driver's seat redone, that new cloth would be darker. It's certainly possible my cloth has faded a bit in 30 years, it's just far from a certainty with a car that had two layers of limo tint, louvers, and 45k on the odometer when I got it, and has been kept in a dark garage ever since. LOL If that damn spring hadn't broken and poked through the seat, the interior would be mint. Poop happens.

your seats aren't as faded as the fronts of mine were but the backsides of my buckets were closer to the color of your seats though not nearly as dark as the NOS cloth is. Let me know if you need a panel of that material as I held onto them just in case they could help someone

That door panel pic may be a bit deceptive. I was doing my best to highlight the stripe repair, so it was under the dining room chandelier with the flash forced on. Might have gone through Photoshop to adjust the brightness as well. Otherwise the stripes are hard to photo.
The matching panel under incandescent light without the flash and no editing is somewhat darker.

Beautiful seats. Princess is not only the best upholster that I have ever known, but also a great friend. You went to the best.

+1 for Princess and Lethal Interior. Great work and good to work with her. She did mine a couple of years ago and was having health problems then so I hope she's doing better now. Lead time was a little long but worth the wait in the end.
