Beechwood/Plaid interior anyone???
LOL...Sunday Funday with Photoshop.
So I'm talking with Princess at Lethal Interiors about some seat covers. I know I'm going to go with my factory 89 seats and stitching, and I know I'm opting for the beechwood leather bolsters and headrests etc. etc. ...but instead of the factory tweed inserts, I'm looking at other options that would still match and look good, but would also be a little different. My car is nothing if not a nod to everything "stock" that GM did on these cars, but not actually quite the same as they did it. i may end up with factory tweed, but in the meantime, I'm looking at options.
I've always loved the almost tongue in cheek look of plaid in the older cars. If I'm not mistaken, it has its roots in old European racing. Could be wrong. Anyhow, there is NO WAY I'm actually going to do this in my car. -and even if I wanted to, I don't think Princess has the material. If she does, it's certainly not something we've discussed. I set up a photoshop file to play with some ideas and thought this would be fun.
This isn't MY car of course, as it's a vert, but it IS the leather beechwood on red, which is what mine is. I was just using this pic to help me play with ideas. It's Sunday, it's freezing raining outside, my Giants are out of the playoffs, might as well have some fun. .....actually my Giants have been out for a few weeks, but who's counting. .....actually they've been out since about week 5. So what! Jeez. Nit-picky Cowboy's fans.
Anyhow, flame away!

It's not the worst thing I've ever seen. Looks sort of '75 Nova-ish.
Instead of plaid, is there a tan houndstooth option, ala 1st gen?
And to answer my own question...there IS tan houndstooth material.

Awwww come on! ....I think it's awesome. As I said, I never actually considered it for my Iroc, but I think it's cool none the less. If I had an old Porsche you couldn't keep plaid OUT of it!!!!!!!! ....or even an old truck or something. Agree 100% it doesn't belong on our cars, but I still think it's cool. Oh well.....different strokes! Either way though, I posted just for fun, to see what responses I'd get. You guys didn't disappoint!
