Turn signal switch WITH radio controls (89 GTA)

looking for a replacement turn signal switch for a column that has the radio controls on the wheel. Does anyone have a part number or lead on one for sale? Everywhere I searched it explicitly says “not for models with radio controls”

thanks!

As far as I know, not reproduced. You might be able to buy a non radio replacement and swap in the center part that has the failures. I started messing with one of mine, but I didn't finish since I am not running the GTA wheel at the moment

I assume you are talking about the switch with canceling cam inside the column and not the external stalk with the cruise and wiper control (the stalk is the same with and without radio controls). The internal switch does include the 3 circular contacts and spring pins for the horn, radio controls and button backlighting. The standard switch only has 1 contact for the horn. The one for the radio controls has long been discontinued and I have not yet seen a reproduction available. I replaced mine in the early 2000's and the local Chevy dealer was able to find me an NOS one from another dealer, but there were only a handful left nationwide in dealer inventory back then.

I'm not sure what's wrong with yours, but your options would be to possibly build a new one using yours and a new non wheel control version, or source a used one. You could post a wanted ad here on the forum and they also pop up from time to time on Ebay.

Yes I am speaking of the canceling cam. Mine has a crack where it looks like the stalk was forced hard for either a Left or Right turn, and the white plastic frame is cracked. I compared photos to a non radio control unit and ordered one, hoping to swap over just the frame. Looks possible but we'll see.

You mean the white plastic piece in the photo here? It is removable and I don’t know for sure if it is the same as the one w/o radio controls, but I would think there is a good shot they are the same.

Also, correction on the number of spring contacts. There are 4, not 3 as I stated before. This photo is my old broken one with 2 of the 4 spring contacts broken off.

let us know how it works out.

That's what I was getting at. I was going to try to swap the white part with one from a new non-radio switch. I think it will work, they sure look the same

Update: YES it works. Here is what I ordered, ACDelco Part Number D6219A. $28 on Amazon with Prime.

Everything is the same with the exception of the two springs and a small hole. The springs in the radio control model does not use a right bend at the end to secure the spring, rather its cut flat as a pin, this is done to avoid pressing into the thin gauge 4 wires for the radio controls. Swap over your two springs and you're golden. The hole is missing on the radio control module, unsure what its for but I left it as-is, was not interfering at all.

I went ahead and replace my brackets that actuate the "turn signal" per say since the spring constant was fresh etc and my bushing was worn.

Onto the pics: The radio control unit had a back base plate, and the white piece was cracked. The new D6219A was just the opposite, piece I needed was black so we ended up with an all black module:
