Need Help with Hatch

I recently purchased the Hawks rear hatch motor, the complete thing. Someone had removed ALL of the hatch motor from the car before me, so I had only the lock cylinder not connected to anything. I don't have any switches up front either, so the only way to pop the hatch is to insert a screwdriver into the latch and pop it up.
How does the lock cylinder connect to the hatch motor so when you turn the key behind the plate, the hatch opens?
This is a 1987 car if that helps any.. .

Where does the white wire connect to?

Rust in the pan here is next on my list.
