What would be a proper coating for the molded foam portion of the wheel? It's original grey has worn down to black in places. Eventually I get a nice wrap for it, but for now I'd just like it all one color. What do you all recommend? It's from an '87 I had years ago and I want to put it in my '89 and to look half decent.

 

You could use interior spray dye to make it whatever color you want. I've used the Duplicolor and SEM dye on my IROC project with good results.

 

Another option is you could go down to a Chevy Dealership and get a steering wheel cover. Most places like Pep Boys or Autozone IMO don't have a nice selection. But when I went to the
GM Parts store behind the dealership they had some really nice ones.
