Hawks shift **** adapter

I know it’s simple but can someone with one tell me how to properly install it mines keeps getting stuck down and is it supposed to just lift out?

should have a set screw on it.

Ya I just got it to work the machining inside the adapter wasn’t perfect to I cleaned it up with a drill bit and it’s good now but still is the whole adapter supposed to just lift off with the **** and everything

Like what stops it from just lifting the whole assembly and the lock and all that
