98+ seat install question with stock harness

Installing a set of 98+ seats in a 88 gta that currently has power seats. If I have the stock 98+ harness that goes between the two seats that has the 2 bolster lines etc.. then it should be as easy as just connecting the two seats together by the harness and connecting the harness to the positive and negative to the floor of the driver side. Am I current on this? Each seat gets a bolster line and black clip and the driver side floor gets the yellow black and orange.

I think I tried this once,... and found the 4th gen harness is NOT the same as the thirdgen harness. MAYBE it can be modified to work, but I was able to find a Thirdgen harness so I am not sure about that.

Too much work to bother. The 4th gen harness has different connectors and is wired differently since the solenoids/relays are different as well. Also the air line for the bladders differ, dual on 4th gen, single on 3rd gens.
If you have power seat, i think power on the 4th gen harness is integrated for lumbar/seat. Not so much on 3rd gens.

looking at the 4th gen harness the only thing that connects to the car is the positive and negative wire. All the rest go between the seats.

Pretty much, that white plug supplies power to the whole set-up, but i believe its separate on 3rd gens.

hello all, i have 87 gta with power seats, i updated to a 4th gen seat but but i have a orange and black wire set up, i connected orange and black to the orange and black on the 4 the gen seat but all it did was make noise. the seat wouldnt move. does any of the other wires need power or ground to them? im not too concerned with the bladders. just want it to go all the way back all lower it some

As long as the have the harness to connect the seats together all you have to do is connect the orange and black of the driver seat to the floor. Mine did the same thing and I had power to the wire on the floor. But it didnt work until i ran a new power wire directly from the battery with its own fuse.

when you connect it you should hear the passenger seat air compressor make noise. My seat motors did the same thing. Just make noise until I ran a new power wire . To test it i Just run one on a fuse from the battery over the hood and tested it like that to see if it was a power issue and it was even tho my floor stock power wire was reading enough voltage with my meter.
