Help! Turn signal cam broken

Help! Mine disintegrated today and all I can find is the Dorman 83232 replacement. I've heard a couple of times that this Dorman part is terrible and I'm trying to find a OEM or the same level of quality. Can anybody recommend another brand and part number?
Thanks!

Re: Help! Turn signal cam broken

I have the Dorman unit in mine, and it seems to work just fine. It's only been in there a few months, however, so time will tell.

GM used this cam in most of their vehicles thru those years.

Re: Help! Turn signal cam broken

This seems like an ideal junkyard find. Probably shared part between lots of cars, easy to access, cheap to buy, oem quality.

Thanks! Sent them off an email and they responded quite quickly. Unfortunately they said that Dorman is the only manufacture now of these parts. So... Dorman it is.
From what I can tell it almost sounds like the rubber(?) insulator is either getting punctured, or isn't wide enough. The copper ring is making contact with the metal locking ring above it where the copper wraps around .

When I take my original out tonight, I'll compare the two and see what the difference is.

I feel your pain; been burned by their low-quality junk in the past. I suggest you buy 2-3 of them so you'll have replacements when even Dorman quits selling them.
