Flame Red headliner replaced with Red Houndstooth

After a great debacle with SMS Auto Fabrics (avoid), I've finally put my sagging headliner issue to bed.

For those with the less common Flame Red interior color, you're options are vey limited on replacement material. Let SMS take your money and continually send you the wrong fabric, after sending the correct sample and stating it's "in-stock"...change your headliner to a different color...or punt.

I decided to go a different route and try something different. It turned out pretty well, and is a good enough match for me.

Restored the original headliner board and recovered with Red Houndstooth.

when i came into this thread i assumed i wouldn't like the houndstooth but it looks pretty good. i think the small size of the pattern makes it work.
are you going to eventually do the sail panel covers too?

Thanks I appreciate the comment!

At this point no on the sail panels...but anything is possible in the future.

Nice work, I think it looks good. Just did that job myself with a kit from Acme Auto Headlining that I got via Classic Industries. Looks like they offer a red color on their website:

Thanks! Not the correct color of red, I've been down that road unfortunately.

That looks pretty cool, reminds me of a 2nd gen with the Lombardy II/Hobnail seat material.

A "striped" pattern applied to a curved surface...not easy. I like it. Nice work.
