Full of hot air!

Hello! I have an '86 trans am that always has hot under hood air blowing through the vents. Primarily through the floor vents. (With the mode selector set to off, blower fan off as well.) I gather that the culprit is likely that the foam surrounds on the mode doors have rotted away, but my question is if anyone knows if there is a "main" air intake door that feeds the whole system prior to the blower motor, or if I will have to go and remove the whole dash to get to each individual door. Thank you!

if 86 is same as 90, yes, there is a main door. it often doesnt shut all the way. you can access it to view it from the engine compartment. I may have a pic of it over here, was trying to find it but the system is super slow on my computer today and I need to hit the road https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/cool...on-here-2.html
