Edelbrock TES on an LT1

Hey everyone. I getting ready to do this swap come winter time and i was wondering if i could use the headers from my 305tpi (Edelbrock TES, paid $500 for them, so i hope i can still use them). Would they bolt up to the LT1 heads, or would i have to get some designed for the LT1?

They will bolt up, however I dont believe they actually fully cover the port. Wont be optimal, but they work as one of the LT1 swaps i've done has been running around with them for a while.

With the ports not fully being covered, will a messed up performance, or cause those nasty, *** forsaken exhaust leaks (can't stand em!)? Also, where can i find an AC delete bracket/pulley? I took the ac out of my car and got the 1le box, so i won't have to notch to keep ac, just need the pulley. I would also like to get rid of smog, since thats not really an issue either. Would i have to get new belt or pulley/bracket aswell?

The A/C delete pully is about 70 bucks or so and you can get it from GM. It's possible that you could end up with header leaks by the port not fully being open, and with the cost of some of the 3rd gen headers it may be worth getting a new set.

Is it because the LT1 heads have d-shaped ports, while the headers are circular? What headers are suggested? Also, what about the smog pump? Does the LT1 have one? If so, how do i go about deleting it?

The smog pump is electric on the LT1, it's on the driverside of the engine where the coil is. I'm running a set of Hedman D-port shorties for a 3rd gen and it mates up great. The headers were like $179 and I got the y-pipe which was $99 as well. The only thing I had to do was drill the holes and weld in O2 bungs in each header in the collector and they work like a charm.

OK, so i will have to get some new headers then. One $179 is not bad at all. I'll try the TES's at first, since Z28***** said he put some on one's car and they are driving it. If i see sut or smile that stuff, then i'll get the Hedman w/y-pipe. Good to here that the smog isn't belt driven, like it was on my 305, which i got rid of. What is the block off plate for the egr (and what does that stand for btw?)?

On the back of the intake you will see two things, a big round thing with a vacuum line on it, that's the EGR valve (exhaust gas recirculator) and on the passenger side is the heat riser from the exhaust. What you will want to do is get take both off and get some blockoff plates to cover the holes, they can be found on ebay for like 20-25 bucks.
