LT4 Intake
I have a guy who is wants to sell me a LT4 intake. Telles me that i will gain 10-15 hp with it. Are any of you running it? And if so what makes it different from the LT1? thanks!

If I've been told correctly you have to get the LT4 heads as well because the ports don't match up. I'm not certain on that though
you *can* bolt an LT4 intake to LT1 heads, it will phsyically bolt up, but the ports will not match up perfectly.
whoever is trying to sell it to you is blowing smoke up your ***. There is ZERO reason to get it unless you are running LT4 heads, in which case you have to have it.

Now if you really want an LT4, and you have $2500 to burn. You can get an LT1 to LT4 conversion kit from Summit. It includes the intake, LT4 heads, LT4 hot cam, 1.6:1 roller rocker arms, lifters, and all of the gaskets. But it also says that the PCM may have to be modified. It's supposed to give you 450+ hp at the flywheel.
The LT4 conversion is a waste of money in my opinion, and I've basically done the complete conversion. You will NEVER get 450 flywheel HP from a Hotcam LT4 conversion. They got 425 out of one with an Accell DFI computer system and tuned long tube headers on a dyno. You *might* be able to get 415 out of one, but you're going to have to have a damn good tune and spend a lot of time on the dyno to get it.
On top of the LT4 heads and intake, I've now done:
30# injectors
58mm TB
Electric waterpump
XE236/242 cam
Forged pistons (11:1 CR)
and I would be happy with 450 at the flywheel now.

Also: What is your Flywheel HP @ now?
CSR waterpump (used to be CSI)
its a Combination Motorsports cam, part number TN-236XL. I got it used though.
Right now, I'm sitting at about 200 flywheel HP
I really don't know what my flywheel HP is. I dyno'd 320 at the wheels before with the LT4 conversion on a Mustang dyno.

Before you spend the 2500 on the conversion, you should look at what else you can get for $2500.
There are plenty of reputable head porters out there that would do a terrific job of getting your LT1 heads flowing and your car wouldn't look like anything was done if anyone looked. At least not until you left 'em looking at nothing but your taillights!
I went with a Comp Cams grind, 07-503-8, and AFR heads and an LT4 intake. I didn't know about the good flow numbers you could get with the factory LT1 heads ported. I would have gone that route to keep more of a sleeper status if I had known before I bought my parts...
Lloyd Elliot is the name I hear most often on CamaroZ28.com message board. Am I allowed to name other boards?...Anyway, good luck with whatever you choose!
