harness location

well i'm redoing the 91 and i'm trying to clean up the harness. i had it running the traditional way through the fender but i'm thinking about cutting a small hole under the heater box and feeding it through. sealing it properly with a gromet the harness should look cleaner.

any thing i should worry about cutting a hole in the firewall under the heater box?

I'm putting mine under the heater box as well, i should have it finished this weekend - i'll try to post pics. Finding a gromet has been hard, i'll be making one out of some Lowe's hardware stuff.

I have mine going through the firewall, looks real clean. Not to hard to do, just measure, measure, measure, then drill.

I'm sorry i don thave a pic of it when i did it (comp crashed and lost all my pics of my swap), but i know mr. dude has a good pic that he sent me when i was asking about it. Try asking him if he still has it, i made my hole just above the frame rail and just below the heater box. You basicly have just enough room to fit a 2 inch hole in that spot(i had maybe a 1/16th of an inch above and below the hole i cut.

Hope this helps, if you have anything just ask.

Justin

i put my harness through the fire wall and took the side carpet panel off mounted the coputer to the kickpanel then used a heat gun on the back of the carpeted panel and moulded the extra shape of the computer , . looks almost factory , the only mod is to trim the top underdash panel a bit.
