LT1 Swap Motor Mounts?

Do the motor mounts need to be replaced when swaping the 305 TBI for the LT1?

Yes, you will need a set of Tuned Port injection motor mounts. They are the only ones that will work.

I'm using a stock V8 mounts and the clamshells from a 78 Chevy truck on mine, no problems at all. Part numbers for the frame mounts are the same 92-92 any V8 car.

Any small block mounts(clamshell) will work as long as they are not LT1 or LS1. If it came with a TBI or TPI you can use either, They are all the same.

That matches my experience. AFAIK the mounting locations of all first and second generation small blocks are identical, so they can be mounted with your existing mounts. It'd be nice to swap in some polyurethane mounts, but that does require getting access to the nuts inside the K-member, and I was only able to do that by dropping the A-arms.

wrong, I used my TBI mounts.

You will need to use your 3rd gen clamshell and modify the passenger side mount if you are using F-Body A/C. use the forward mount position on the driver's side of the block.

Sorry, I was wrong. I was under the impression that everyone used TPI mounts cause thats what I read to use.

I didn't have any clamshells cause I forgot to get them off of my motor before I traded it for my exhaust and I didn't get to try them.

My mistake.
