I belive that the cam is different in the earlier years, check the cam #, but I could be wrong. Also 95 and up had the vented opti.

Here is a little more info:
"You can deteremine what year the engine is by looking at the front of the engine. A "vented" Opti, and not crank position sensor is a 95. An unvented Opti and no crank position sensor is a 94. A vented Opti and a crank position sensor is OBD-II 96/97".

The 92-93 doesn't have a front fuel crossover on the intake.

The 'vette LT1s have the fuel lines on the passenger side of the motor where as the F-body and other ones are on the driver side. Block castings are the exact same between the 2 bolt and 4 bolt blocks which won't help, as stated above, the opti is vented on the '95 and '96 versions, '96 will have a different timing chain cover.

96-97 has two knock sensors and a crank sensor on the bottom of the front cover.

It looks like a '93 model since it doesn't have the crossover in the front of the intake but in the rear.
