to replace or not?

Axle/Gears: 3:73
to replace or not?
I am doing a re- build on my LT1 I called the guy at the local preformance store and asked him the price on a set of lifters. He tells me not to waste my money on them. Now the old ones are sopose to have around 80-85000 on them. So should I replace them or not?
