Got donor car, what's left?

Just picked up a 95 LT1 Camaro as a donor car. I am goin to swap it into my 91 RS. IS there anything else that I am going to need that will not come with the donor car? The donor car is complete and is running.

If the LT1 is going in the V6 car in your sig you will need motor mounts and the matching clamshells for a V8 car.

im actually debating as to which car I wanna do the swap with. I keep hearing that the torque tiwsts the t-top cars but in my case in the one i drive most of the two... And what exactly are clamshells? I been doin the searches on here abotu the LT1 swap and there are so many variables that make it hard to get a simple answer answer to a question. I figured it would be easier to just pick up a donor car but its hard to get an answer as to what will be needed that won't be on the car...

torque does twist unibody cars add subframe connectors and you will be fine dont listen to people that say your gonna wreck your car if you do it it dont matter if u have t tops or a hard top they all flex no matter what u need to go to the parts store tell them u need motor mounts for a v8 fbody

The clamshell is the solid metal part that bolts to the block. It is either a junkyard or dealer item. They are the same(I believe)for all 82-92 F body V8s. What are the other questions you have? I will try to answer any that I can.

i believe you will have to do some suspension work in the front end of your car, going from a v6 to the lt1 will mean you need v8 springs from a 3rd gen.

Make sure you read this over: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/ltx-...questions.html

Basically need fuel lines, power steering lines, custom a/c lines, V8 suspension, possibly radiator hoses, new V8 motor mounts then whatever for whatever tranny goes in.

Put the LT1 in the hardtop. Put in subframe connectors but make sure you have the frame checked before you put them in. I didn't check out my frame and when I get it checked out this summer and if its not straight, I'm going to have to re-do the sub-frame connectors. Which means, grinding them off and welding them back on.

Put SFC's on the t top car if you are worried about it. Geez people a stock LT1 isn't going to pop the windsheild out of the car.

Im ok with with suspension stuff, engine and transmission, but the computer, wiring, and the fuel lines and otehr lines etc. Im stil a bit confused about. Iv'e been threw the boards and I've seen a number of members who have done this swap and have very clean lookign installs. Looks almost stock so I figure, if i'm going to ditch the 6, might as well go for the newer stuff. This will be however, my first swap AND my first car... So my hand's-on ability is limited at best. But i've also heard paying a shop to do the swap for me will cost more than a good chunk...
