Those 6L LSX's are pretty mean. A buddy of mine has one in an S10. He's putting a set of L92 heads on his 6L. 550 hp from stock L92 heads and an aftermarket cam.

Ive been pulling 1.6x's all summer. Thank for the comment. The tires are M/T street radials 275/50r15. I didn't realize those tires wrinkle like they do until I looked at the pics

Re: IROC LSX finally in the 10's

I've hit high 1.6's with mine too on 275/40/17 ET street DR's but it was a lot of work to get them there. Its damn tricky to get these tires launching hard off a six gear. I still have work to do to get the times I want but best time thus far in sig with crap *** shifts. I've trapped as high as 119 all motor so theres lots more in it. I've been stubborn with the 3.73 gears but it goes through the traps just after the 3-4 shift so less than ideal.

Re: IROC LSX finally in the 10's

I am real interested in your setup, do you have any mods besides cam and heads? I mean are you running stock crank and pistons? What tranny are you using? Is it the exact same as doing a LS1 swap? Do you have to use a computer or can you get an aftermarket distributor?

Re: IROC LSX finally in the 10's

NICE! im shooting for 10s naturally aspirated. Untuned and on street tires my car trapped 120 at irp on tuesday. Im tuning on the wideband, then putting a set of mickeys on the back. I dont have to worry about the 10 bolt though, as i already installed a 9" with 4.56 gears

i cannot complain as on street tires, launching off idle, i went straight to limiter in first spinning, straight to the limiter again in second spinning and spun most of third.

that pic looks awesome! congrats on the pass

Its a stock 50,000 mile shortblock wth a camshaft, ls1 heads, edelbrock intake, carb, and a msd ls1 controler to fire the coils. Trans is a built 700r4 with a 3k stahl.

blugrassz:

1.65 60'
7.45 @ 91.7 1/8
11.71 @ 115.3 1/4

on the motor

Heres the vid of the 10.89 pass along with some other ppl at the track that day. Enjoy

Cool man. I've been following your build on ls1tech(I asked what you are going to replace the stock axle with) and you got an amazing ride there. Keep it up.

Haha there he is! You guys seem to live in the land of bitchen third gens sans LS1's eh? Well I tried my *** off for that elusive 11 this season but pride aside I'm gonna have to swap to a 4.10 gear to get there for next season.

But 10's??? man I'll leave those dreams for the next engine

Yeah, he was scooting for sure. I didnt realize he was still on a stock 10 bolt until it broke. All three LS1 thirdgens are in his video, the red TA shown after my run toward the end is also an LS1 car that has ran a high ten. Looks like I'm the slowest.....for now.lol

But yours is by far the nicest one, paint and interior are flawless and there is nothing wrong with being the slowest when you still run 11.25. Your car sounded awesome leaving Parkette Thurs night
