Things change fast in the LS engine world but considering the amount of time and effort I put into finding a deal on used heads and cam I am completely blown away at the price that Patriot Performance now has on stage 2 ported 243's with a decent cam and push rods, head bolts and all. Cant post a link for non sponsor issues of course but seeing as us LS1 third gen guys are kind of dark horses over here on TGO I thought this post might help other swappers who are swapping and looking to mod or have swapped and looking to mod. If you have a stock displacement LS1 you would have to spend over twice the price of their current package for minimal gains over what it puts down. 400 plus rwhp for 1395 WOW!!! This is the deal of the year and I would be all over it if I could do it over again.

Keep in mind I'm in Canada and have zero affiliation with these guys I only put this post up to inform others of an incredible deal.

 

I've been looking at those deals as well and then saw the price which was real good. I'm looking for heads right now and I will probabaly be going with some from patriot.

 

I seen that posted on LS1tech a couple months ago.....it is aweful tempting....I just hate to tear into my 4K mile crate motor already.

does seem like a solid combo for 400whp+. Patriot heads seem pretty good from what i've been hearing. My local LS1 shop recommends Livernois (sp?) heads tho but patriots are pretty decent

 

There are better available but its very hard and very pricey to make more than 450 rwhp with stock displacement. This combo is the absolute best bang for the buck I've seen yet and I watch pretty close.

A lot of real fast guys seem to be running Trickflows these days. AFR's of course are always a great choice but for these kinds of heads alone your looking at twice the price of this entire package and for what? 20-30 horse at most? Great for racers not real important for most street cars

 

the Patriot stuff is always great. I've got a set of ported GTP's on mine and it's made over 415 with a 598/605 stick and EFI. Should do a little better with the carb on it now and the 150 shot will help me even more. I just need to get the back of the car done so I can get it spun around in the garage and make it roll again.
