Re: all out ls swap what do you think so far

I assume you are using the hydraulic setup for the clutch. Use the entire setup from an LS1 car. The clutch master fits just like a T5 setup.

Re: all out ls swap what do you think so far

on my 89 I used my t-5 master (it was new) and I just installed the ls1 line to it. (pushed out the roll pin installed the new line and pressed the roll pin back in. that simple) this allowed me to use the same thirdgen pedals, retainer and so on for a real easy install.

Lookin good. That trans cross member is going to cause you trouble when you route the exhaust. Might want to start looking into other options there

Re: all out ls swap what do you think so far

Looks good so far. Are you stick with the stock manifolds? I made that mistake when I did my swap. I spent so much time and money trying to make something work. And every time it would leak. So I smartened up and got a set of long tubes from hawks. They look so nice and fit so good. Are you keeping the motor stock?

Re: all out ls swap what do you think so far

Your gonna have to figure out how to use the search button man. These topics are covered in depth many times over. Lots of pics and descriptions. For instance if you READ the sticky and follow the links you might have noticed this on the fifth link;

http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...S&Category=691

Hmm right at the top looks like a pic with a regulator mounted where many of us have done so. Dont take this post as a flame fest its not. its just that if you cant figure out how to find some of this basic stuff by searching your going to get lost in no time and find your waiting for replies to redundant threads. This swap is covered in pretty solid detail now and all these questions are covered. As a suggestion next time you find yourself thinking a question like this check out what the stickies here and over at LS1tech have to say and I think you'll find you will save a TON of time. If its not in the stickies then SEARCH and yet again I'd be mighty surprised if you dont find answers.

Hope that is of some help

Re: all out ls swap what do you think so far

I'm only trying to help you save time bro. Theres lots for you to go yet and as I see it theres no point in posting and waiting to hear what info is already available for you. As I said I'm not trying to flame or say your not going to get help I'm just trying to help you get it done as easy as possible by pointing out the obvious. We've been there and believe you me I have had my fair share of posts along the way in confusion land so no worries. Good luck

Re: all out ls swap what do you think so far

you can look at the pics in my link to see how we mounted our but in actual work time it took us like two or so weeks to do everthing to get our car done. but we ran into problems like the headers didn't fit, was the major hold up
