Low oil sensor LT1

Do you guys swap this sensor over or do you plug it. If you dont have the low oil light?

I would much rather buy a plug than a 60 dollar sensor.

Thanks

Typically just leave the old sensor in the pan, not connected....

Re: Low oil sensor LT1

Just get a plug(unless you got a 4thgen dash swapped in). I can't remember if the low oil sensor throws a code and/or just lights up a low oil light in the 4thgen dash.

Re: Low oil sensor LT1

I had already thrown away the old sensor a while back.
I know the dimensions i would need are 20mm x 1.5 x 15 - 20mm
anyone know where i can get a bolt that size?

Thanks

Well, if you can't find that bolt at an auto parts store or a hardware store, you may just want to buy a used sensor from ls1tech.com or camaroz28.com's message board classifieds. You may have to give $20 shipped for it.

If you can't find it in a boneyard or at a hardware store here is another option look at 180-22-405. That is the plug for the canton lt1 pan.. would work fine it is 9.99 however..

Thanks. I will try boneyards first, but 10 bucks is not as bad as 60.

Re: Low oil sensor LT1

advance or napa. ask for a differential plug.
advance has them cheaper than napa. they have a ton of different sizes.
yellow and black packaging, locally here.

Re: Low oil sensor LT1

does anyone know if you can put a resistor or anything in line to get rid of the low oil light on the 4th gen cluster.
i dont run a BCM, so the light stays on constantly.
