How do I get some power to the fuel pump?
If it's not one thing with the wiring
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/elec...-wire-has.html
it's another. I have no power to my fuel pump. For power I have the one connector off the starter with the 3 power wires hooked up to the battery. That's giving me power to the inside lights, windows and even clicking the relay right next to the fuel pump, but the fuel pump isn't working.
The orange wire is getting power, which is to be expected because that comes straight off the battery. Now what combination of wires do i have to jump to get power to my fuel pump?
The fuel pump has a gray wire going in to it under the axle so i jumped orange to grey and no power. Jumped orange to red and nothing. Black is grounded but I even grounded it some more.
Even jumped the oil sender orange to grey Nothing.
Worst case I can make a whole new relay for the fuel pump, but I still need to know what wire to make hot to get it to run.
Pic of the wires coming out of the relay for reference.

Again that would be fine if I can figure out what wire powers the fuel pump.
Tell me what wire in this relay to run hot off the battery to get power to the fuel pump.
I've jumped the hot orange to every single one and nothing.
I guess it has to be a combinaton of them or it's disconnected somewhere else.
Where does that gray wire that runs the fuel pump and goes in to the frame come out on the front end?
i figured it would be the middle gray since that's the same color as the one at the 3 prong connector by the fuel pump, but that gives me nothing.

yeah that's how I know I am getting 12volts at the orange.
The fuel pump worked fine before I pulled the engine. It almost has to be some connector that's disconnected

get under there and run new wires man this is what we did to a buddies mustang anyways... dont know if that helps, but there should only be a couple wires that could go there under the car.

Re: How do I get some power to the fuel pump?
Im not running new wires on a car that I know has good functional wires.
Where does the wire that runs from the fuel pump first come out on the front end?
If I know where that is and I apply voltage to it, the fuel pump will run and I can make a relay for it.
band aiding the problem is not the solution.
