this valve i picked up allows me to open and close the vaccum.
i wasnt able to integrate it to the 4th gen controls other wise i think it would be nice.

i am also looking for a new exhaust set up that i have in mind ill be sticking with my exhaust manifolds for now.

Re: my LSx 87 IROC build

When you say steering gear are you talking about a new gear box? I read an article in Camaro Performers where they put a new quick-ratio box in an IROC-Z and said it did wonders for the car. I'd like to do something like that but the expense is a bit on the steep end, and way down the list of things I want/need to get the swap done.

As far as sales on LCA's, there is a sponsor on LS1Tech.com, "Byunspeed", their website is www.byunspeed.com They've got a sale going on with free shipping on orders over $99. I actually just purchased my tubular K-member through them and it was $485 with free shipping. Not bad if you ask me...

Re: my LSx 87 IROC build

I don't have any complaints from him (at this time anyway). He's even offered me $20 for every person that buys from him that mentions my name. And he said any time I want to start a group purchase to just give him a ring and he's sure he can work something out. I should have my k-member next week around the 8th or 9th. When it gets here I'll be sure to post up.

Sweet vids! I really like the one against the Z06 haha

So what exactly did the Cobra have that allowed it to scream ahead at the end of that last video? A huge shot of the giggle juice?

Re: my LSx 87 IROC build

umi lcas and relocation brackets got installed
i feel a lot less wheel hop going on the roll
final test will be off the line.

i still feel a drag to the right side. not sure what it is but it might be alignment.

my rear is even now as well. i think my stock lcas were bent and gave it a uneven drop

Yikes. Are you assuming the power of the new drivetrain bent them, or something else? That makes me want to push new control arms closer to the top of my "needs" list.

i installed the 4th gen lcas a while back . i do get a lot of wheel hop and it might have twisted them a bit.

ive heard both bad and good about the tubular lcas.
spohn has the squared boxed lcas i think umi does too, not too sure. i ordered these on umis labor day special .

Hey I just wanted to update you on that purchase I made because I said I would.

I bought my Spohn k-member through Byunspeed on Sept. 1st, they billed it out. It didn't get shipped out until the 11th, but I believe that was mostly on Spohn's shoulders because I believe that they require like 8 days before they have to ship them because of the custom nature of the part. I called Byunspeed anyways just to check up on it, and they had it shipped on the 11th, and it arrived yesterday on the 17th. It would have been here sooner but they made a small mistake by getting my ZIP wrong so it delayed it an extra day. Over all, I was happy. I didn't mind waiting a few extra days because the shipping was free. +1 in my book.

Re: my LSx 87 IROC build

my guess is that someone tried to jack from the LCA's and that bent them...
lots of wheel hop could do it too i suppose.
if it were me, i would have gotten the rod ended LCA's instead of the urethane ended ones because supposedly the urethane ends can cause some weird handling issues if you want to do anything other than drag racing.
honestly, without knowing a lot more detail you cannot simply say boxed or tubular is stronger.
the beefiest ones are solid blocks of aluminum found at metco
http://www.metcomotorsports.com/prod...CA0008&cat=113
the weakest ones are the stock ones.
anything else falls somewhere inbetween and will do just fine as far as strength goes.

Re: my LSx 87 IROC build

I think the rear diffuser with those tips looks really good. My only complaint (me being extremely picky), is that you should look into maybe having the edge of the tips cut to sit flush with the rear bumper. The one picture where the camera is looking almost straight down on the tips makes them look out of place.

Re: my LSx 87 IROC build

the tips themselves are very weird. weird angles but they kinda throw you off.
they are aluminum and i can probably cut at the angle of the bumper. but kinda scared !

I'm sure you could get some help if you wanted to try and cut them. I've got a porter cable band saw that makes straight clean cuts, something like that would be perfect for cutting those tips. THen you could take a file and smooth them down and then polish them again.

Re: my LSx 87 IROC build

In those videos you posted...racing the WS6, Z06, etc... were you spraying N20? Or was that just the cold air intake doing the work?

Well I am impressed. In some of the engine bay photos you previously posted, it looked like you had nitrous hooked up.

i don't really like the tires.
they're good in the rain but you actually have to warm them up pretty good for those to grab.
