Re: my LSx 87 IROC build
hate to thread-dig... I've been away from the f-body scene for too long
is the 4th gen gas tank interchangeable with the third gen unit? I found a small replacement aluminum fuel cell for a 4th gen that I would like to install in my 91 RS drag project.
Also where can I find one of those extended 3 piece spoilers!

My Hawk's 5 inch spoiler does not line up correctly, requires some modifications to fit properly and its finish was less than perfect(wavy/uneven). You would think that for $300 it would be ready to spray and bolt on. Besides that, with a little extra work it looks

TPI Terr is not running the Hawks spoiler, he molded it himself.

Re: my LSx 87 IROC build
Yea, like i said, i love the looks of them on our cars, and was about to purchase one, until i looked on here, and seen that there had been issues with every single person that had purchased one. It killed me to find that out because i wanted one so bad, but like you said, for that amount of money, after a paint job, that thing should be near perfect after install. Me not being a bodyman, cannot justify spending the cost of the spoiler, then the cost of the body work, and paint. Six to seven hundred dollars total for a couple inches taller spoiler doesnt work with the wife to well. Id like to see them at least kick the quality up a bit on them, and id buy in a heartbeat.

Re: my LSx 87 IROC build
not too many updates since last time.
i had my firewall m/c area reinforced to prevent flexing and the issues i previously had.. i added a ram adj master cylinder and modified 3rdg gen pedals.
but the car is drivable finally. 3rd and 4th dont go in not as smooth as before. so seems like the symptoms reversed. it used to be 1st to 2nd gear. i hope its not my tranny. anyways im driving it normal. ill be dropping the tranny in a few months. i have a feeling it needs to be looked at.. but possibly my clutch might be going out.. (rear main seal leak)
i also reinforce the chassis by adding a plate where stress cracks build by the steering gear mounting place.
recharged my a/c system. i have to find a way to fix the heater control valve on. seems like the coolant is still running into the heater core and has great impact.. it will be cool if i can drop a good 5-10 degrees. i used the same one as ghetto cruiser. its nice to be n cali with the hot weather and a/c cooling u down.
now once i resolve the tranny issues. id like to get back on to the suspension and possibly re do my exhaust. 2.25 piping in the front looks pretty gay. sfcs and a stb will be along the way. Ive been wanting to do auto x.

At least they are the Golds. I love the people who come in complaining about how long the valuecrap (craft) pads last, and then buy them again...and again.

Re: my LSx 87 IROC build
so few new changes for the new year. car got a new color/custom color back in dec. body work took forever but everything came off. well worth it. minor things that i still have to take care of are emblems. inner wells misc parts/ few interior panels
i haven't finished my door panels but they are there as temps. also in storage i have a min condition 2005 gto dashboard that might be going in this summer after i figure out the hvac ducting. ill be looking into ebony 4th gen door panels which look easier to work with.. i have issues with the ls7 clutch . so i will be looking for a better kit.
as for the engine no internal work yet.. its still stock.

rip old paint...

and a teaser of the new wheels.

Re: my LSx 87 IROC build
my ballpoint seemed to be setting out of place.. i believe all the friction and vibration caused it to fall apart.
i damaged the bottom of my control arm and alignment..
so i ordered the umi tubular a arms not having issues no index point, no bump stop or steering stop.. ive been driving the car like this for a while.

I'm just now realizing that you have a '91/'92 front chin spoiler and '85-'90 ground effects everywhere else haha
How come you didn't do the whole conversion, or on the other hand, how come you don't get an older style chin spoiler?

Re: my LSx 87 IROC build
one more ..phone camera sucks.. iroc emblems are being made..and lsx cowl emblems. i am talking to emblempros because i need a front nose emblem and i like the designs they have for the 4th gens.

ive had the front aero spoiler for a while *brand new.. i got a deal on it and couldnt pass on it.. i wanted to keep the original ground effects.. i have lot going on.. ctsv brakes, 91 front spoiler, diffuser, the exhaust tips, cowl hood and now these wheels lol for a time i had c5 vette seats but i got a deal on full leather set off the 4th gen camaro... now im looking at the mint condition 05gto dashboard that i have in storage and thinkin about it so much because it looks so nice
once i get my emblems on ill be posting some more pics..

Re: my LSx 87 IROC build
for the wheels im sure i can change them up maybe vinyl wrap on top or something.. they do stand out but ill see how things look with the emblems.
havent had much time to work on that .. i want to wrap the upper portion of the door panels with black vinyl .. but im also in the amrket for trans am door panels *ebony black
yeah i really like the wheels.. ive had my c5z06 wheels since 06 so it was surprise for everyone lol
at home
once re do my clutch im thinking of redoing my y pipe possibly and x pipe over the axles.. and since my mufflers are going to come down i might change the angle of the exhaust tips.
