LT1 into 3rd Gen Camaro

I've been reading up a lot on this swap. I wasn't going to do it until the summer, but my 305 blew so now I'm forced to do it. I have found the motor and pretty much all the gaskets, seals, accessories that are required to make the swap work. I'm having trouble finding a proper harness that I can use to get everything running properly.

I heard about the painless harness, but am having trouble locating what I need. I'm also interested in have a member with experience fabricate a proper harness, and paying him for his services. I read the threads on this subject but most are from 2001-2002 time frame. Any help would be great... thanks in advance

Have you perused the engine swap forum? There's a specific subforum for LTx/LSx engine swaps.

Re: LT1 into 3rd Gen Camaro

I was quickly browsing and totally skipped over it. I should look better next time before making the thread. Thanks dude for pointing that out.

Moving it will suffice.

Look at the LT1 sticky in the top section of this forum. Then search for "lt1 wiring" and you'll get plenty of info.

You don't need a specific harness, although there are those that do them. Hawks, I believe, will convert yours, but it ain't cheap.

Thanks I'm gonna wire it myself if things are indeed that easy. Wish me luck.
