4th gen fuel tanks

I found a source that has a few different ones to choose from, for $65-$75, so, does it matter which year or engine the tank comes from for our LSx swaps?

Re: 4th gen fuel tanks

My opinion...go with the later plastic tanks. I think there was a difference from 98 to 99-02...but I cant remember.

The plastic tank will bolt right in after you modify the fuel filler neck. Which is really easy because its just a piece of rubber hose between the tank and the spout. Just do some searching on here for 4th gen fuel tank....plenty of info. Also in the sticky.

IIRC the 98 was a metal tank(15.5 gallon) and the 99-02 tanks were all plastic 16.8 gallon and were all the same. Hope this helps!

Re: 4th gen fuel tanks

I appreciate the info, thanks. Who wouldn't want an extra 1.3 gallon capacity? Even if it makes the tank more difficult to fit.

Correct. Not all plastic is created equal.

The V8 tanks/pumps have the regulator built in, the V6 tanks do not. That isn't too big of a deal, because you can always use a Vette fuel filter with the V6 tank/pump.

Re: 4th gen fuel tanks

we are saved! Every one of those tanks I found is from a 3800 car. Now I just hafta sell my PlayStation2 for enough to cover the $75 plus tax.
