Got a Cam!?
Hey guys i am going to get the money order tommaro what do you guys think? He said " 230/236 HR113, Lift is 0.544/0.554 with 1.6 rockers. Its inbetween the CC305 and the CC306." He said that it was run for about 15k miles? And he ran it in a stock corvette he ran 108mph when stock is 101mph?
Then what do you think i will run with this cam?
96 impala ss (iron heads)
complete rebuild 10:5 compression
3:73 posi
that cam w/ 1.6rr
high performance shift kit
3000 stall

Re: Got a Cam!?
You probably already bought it by now, but it's a bit large. Not that it won't help, it will give you top-end power, but it's a bit large for your stock LT1 iron heads. That cam with 1.5:1 rockers will pull to 6500 rpm with good heads like AFR 180cc LT1 heads, but your heads are really a restriction above about 5600 rpm. That cam will also need some tuning, and you'll like it more with about a 3000-stall converter if you have an automatic. A better cam for your heads would be the GM "H.O.T." cam. 218/228, 112, 525/525 w/ 1.6:1. It'd like a 2400 stall.

Re: Got a Cam!?
Thats a pretty good choice for a stock-ish LT1. I would probably go with something similar if I do a cam in my '97 some day. Will still need tuning and probably more converter if its an auto, but a pretty good street/strip cam. Will sound really nice too.

Re: Got a Cam!?
That cam has some folks in the 380 rwhp range with mild heads, you should see 300.

Re: Got a Cam!?
Ya i have the iron heads right now. Later on down the road ill put some good heads on but i think 300rwhp will be able to beat alot of cars on the road.
