Tranny X-members

Are there any other humped X-members on the market for t56 tranny's? The only 2 i know of are Drews, and Skultes. I need a humped X-member so my exhaust will clear.

I ordered the Skulte piece over 2 months ago and it still hasnt came. my swap has been sitting and i cannot do anything with it until the x-member shows up. Any other brands some of you might recommend? or would i be better off just building my own?

I think UMI might have one.....I really really really like their products and service......I believe the site is www.umiperformance.com Check it out and see....everything they make is custom made and way way better in my opinion that another other brand on the market...I was very impressed with the designs and craftsmanship...

Not that I know of.
My skulte one took forever too.
At that time skulte told me he would keep them on hand when selling them. I guess he didn't do that.

Re: Tranny X-members

All these companies do this stuff and it pisses me off.
If it shows up on the website it should be in stock.
Instead a week later you find out it's on back order, and now you got a car down waiting on parts.
They got no problem taking your money but when it comes to service and on time delivery most all of them suck if you buy enough stuff from them.

In skulte's case for me I was repeatedly told 'for sure' dates my crossmember would ship only to have those dates come and go.

Just last week texas speed's website let me order something they didn't even have in stock and knew they couldn't even get. Of course now my order is delayed and their 'solution' is to charge me more for another brand.

Then Monday I order from monster clutches and pay. A few days later ask for a tracking number and get well we don't have that flywheel in stock right now? WTF tell me this before I spend my money and have my car sitting on jackstands.

Oh wait they're all afraid if they were honest up front we wouldn't order from them. And they're probably right and they probably don't deserve our money.

There are SO many companies out there that do this, that it's the norm now to just take your money and as long as you get your part even if it's 3-6 months later, they did their job and you should be happy.

I vote build your own. Then you'll have exactly what you need. If you decide you want a tubular adjustable torque arm, Spohn will sell you the parts to build the mount on your crossmember as well. Thats what I did.

Re: Tranny X-members

Yeah, i should build my own. I've got the skill and tools to do with it (done them on previous swaps), my problem is i live 4 hours from where im working on the car so i get an ocasional saturday to work on the car before i have to head back home. Getting it all fab'd, fitting nicely, then off to powdercoating, then installing it just eats up more weekends. I thought the Skulte design was nice and would make this be something i wouldnt have to worry about......well i guess i was wrong becuase thats the one thing holding me up right now.

And the thing about companies not having the parts.....i ordered a wheel for my truck, called ahead of time and asked if this company stocked it, was told yeah we've got 2 in stock. so i ordered it, then come to find out, they only had 1 in stock, its damaged, and there on national backorder until the 1st week in June.......i tell ya, we need ot start betting on what will show up first, the x-member, or the new rim

+1 Everything that I've gotten from UMI has fit just GREAT! Seriously, much better than I expect a "bolt-on" part to fit. You can tell when someone takes their time to measure/design/build something right...
