Do i need the LS1 sump still if i get the Hawks engine mount kit?

Transmission: T700r Stage2 Shiftkitted
Axle/Gears: 2.77 9 Bolt
Do i need the LS1 sump still if i get the Hawks engine mount kit?

Hey guys, just wanted to know if the hawks complete ls1 conversion mount that can use the stock arms changes anything with the oil pan configuration?
I'm in Australia so 4thgen sumps are hard to come by and $295US from hawks seems a bit rich for a stock sump.

Very nice lookin transAM by the way.
I can get a Holden commodore / monaro sump that would come with it.
I believe it would be the exact same as your 2000-2005 Pontiac GTO sump?
USA bought it off us from our Monaro :P

Yep, but the monaro & Commodore are far better looking then their US counterparts

As for the oil pan situation, unfortunately, the monaro uses a front sump system, which falls exactly into the thirdgen k-frame and steering.

Unfortunately, unless you go to an aftermarket pan, the f-body is the only sump that will work.

Hawks is designed around a Pull out f-body LS1. So their kit only works with the f-body pan.

How much can you get a f-body ls1 sump at the wreckers over there?
Coz the one hawks has just seems a bit too over the top

Yeh the gto style pan is a definate no go. Check around on ls1tech Thats where I got mine from. I belive I only paid a little over 100 for it.
