Re: LS headers, anyone wanna try?
my hawks rubbed in the same spot. would not hear it until it idled at a redlight for a bit and then small vibration. any touch of throttle or cruising and i couldnt hear it. solid mounts too. those look like a direct copy other than the collectors.
Re: LS headers, anyone wanna try?
My hawks knockoffs look identical, down to the same crappy gaskets. My SSWs were right on the frame rail in the same location. I shifted the trans mount hole towards the drivers side for a little more clearance. Later on I got fed up with the aftermarket mounts and built my own solids solving the L/R and twisted position issues from the Spohn mounts
Re: LS headers, anyone wanna try?
awesome im glade to hear im not the only one with this issue, im sure with a few minor adjustments i could get it to quit rubbing there but other then that they seem to be the solution to the expensive header debate!! I very happy with this product.

Re: LS headers, anyone wanna try?
I've got a Right Hand Drive L98 Camaro, and clearance between headers and the steering shaft is always a problem.
As the GTO was originally a RHD car too, I'm thinking the GTO exhaust manifold might be a good option.
Hoe much work is involved bolting GTO exhaust manifolds on to an L98 350?

I also bought the racing Innovation headers and they are going to be in today. Hope to get them on the car this weekend. I was surprised to find these headers for so cheap. Only $270.00 plus shipping.

i bought some racing Innovation headers too, BUT, I have a 4L80e, this should be fun....
Re: LS headers, anyone wanna try?
I have them in my car now, they look good and the fitment is decent. These are the Ebay headers but there made by a company called racing Innovation and supply. If the link doesnt work google them. this is there link for the header= http://www.racinginnovationandsupply...der_p_189.html

Re: LS headers, anyone wanna try?
I went ahead and bought a set of the RI polished for right around 280.00 shipped to my door, ordered came in about 2 days, packaged nicely, read about how the drivers side was giving some people issues and they had to go in from the bottom. Well I took the plug wires off and since I smoothed and painted my engine bay I didnt have the steering shaft installed so maybe that helped as well cause it took all of 3 mins to install the drivers side from the top. Took the starter off for the passenger side, went in like a breeze. I also have a 4l60e and didnt see any issues with fitment. I was on the fence about these cheaper ls swap headers but at the end of the day Im glad I did and saved a few hundred dollar bills.
Re: LS headers, anyone wanna try?
the Racing innovation headers come with gaskets, and you can use the same bolts that hold on your stock exhaust manifolds. I forgot to mention im running a TH350 behind my LSx set up. headers clear the trans and mount fine!

Someone shared this link with me, they appear to be the exact same polished headers that were listed on Hawk's site when they had a 1 5/8 set listed. I don't see that option listed on their site anymore, looks like all they sell now are 1 3/4+. Anyways, this is a great price for a set of headers for someone on a budget and doesn't need a big tube primary.

Re: LS headers, anyone wanna try?
Of course I haven't seen the other brands but on the cheaper eBay ones I noticed that the welds aren't the cleanest and the welds have already flash rusted some. The flanges up next to the block aren't the cleanest either.
BUT I am pleased for the price! There's no way I'm paying $800 for a set of headers. Call me cheap or whatever but there's just no way!

Re: LS headers, anyone wanna try?
What's the consensus on ground clearance of the RI long tubes?
My thoughts on headers is, if the RI LT's work then i'll give them a try as that will free up more money for all the other parts my LS1/t56 swap requires. If they last forever great, if not, I'm sure they'll last a few years and I'll have the money to buy the better ones.
