I've got too much stuff going on at the moment to start buying parts right now, but you're really giving me motivation. I want the coil overs and the tubular a-arms to go with my k member too! Man, that's so awesome! And I've been talking about getting the SS hood too for a LONG time
Thats kinda funny cause i love your vert was really excited in my pants when you finally went the LSx way. I have been contiplating doing a hot parts setup for our LS swapped cars but dont know if it would be cost effective since it would prob end up costing $1100 to $1500 for the hot side. Plus i had to notch my fenderwell (i prob could of just dented and smoothed it, o well). LMK though and I can give you as much help as i can since this car has been a very big headache. lol

Re: New IROC Boost

So the God Damn Ronals wont fit because my brakes are to massive for it... Gotta get a half and inch smaller at least so prob just through the brakes from LS1 F-Bodys on there. Guess the Z06s will go on the teal car.

The reason for the no fit...

And then there is this. I could kick my own *** for messing this bung up this bad.

:UPDATE:
Diffrence in X-Members

Cleanin the engine bay up. Sanding the black down going to paint it body color now.

Fixed the stupid oil return bung.

Now in the process of finishing the engine bay running the wires for the battery relocation in the trunk. Think its OK for me to run the wire outside the car?

Re: New IROC Boost

No problem at all running the wire along the 'frame' rails on the underside of the car. Just use plenty of brackets to hold it up, and keep it away from the exhaust of course.

Grind the k member pad for clearance instead of messing with the oil pan again.

I think it will all depend on how much needs to be cut off. Do you have any pics from a better angle? and maybe hold an AN- fitting up to it?

Re: New IROC Boost

From that picture angle it looks like a slight bit of the corner needs to be ground away which wouldnt hurt the strength. If you're concerned about strength, you can always cut big and weld back

Re: New IROC Boost

Moved the bung farther back. Not ideal but it will work. Car goes to the body shop Saturday to get the engine bay painted the same as body color. Then everything goes back together.

BTW the Spohn K-Memeber is a pita bolting up tried everythign while test fitting in and one bolt hole would not line up to save my life.

Not sure what you mean? I have twin in tank pumps. Not sure as of yet if the fuel lines are going to restrict me making the power i want. We will see though. I might just switch to AN line anyway before its gets all back together though.

Also, mount your alt on there and see if the output lug clears the K-member brace. I had to cut mine off

Yes Ronals are going onto the IROC but they will be, eh. Diffrent.
Oh and Huge Problem. K-Member moves the engine 2 inch forward... Making my trans go 2 inch forward... Meaning the K-Member has got to be swapped out. GOD DAMNIT!

Re: New IROC Boost

Are you sure the issue isnt the mounts you're using? The k member shouldn't set the placement for the motor, it's what pedestal mounts you use. You were using the Spohn k member and what pedestals? I am using the Spohn k member and Spohn pedestals and it sits where it needs to. I don't even think there's an option on spohns site when ordering a k member for engine placement, is there?

i Dont remeber which swap mounts I had but they didnt work with the Spohn peice and I'm pretty sure its a SBC K-Member. Guy didnt know for sure when i bought it second hand and i got it for a pretty good deal so i took the risk. Oh well.

Re: New IROC Boost

I guess I'm just confused why there would be a difference between an SBC k member and a swap k member. As long as you use the correct pedestals (the ones most use are the Spohn pedestals), the motor will sit in the correct spot.

I am using spohn k member and pedestals, my dad is using stock k member and spohn pedestals....both motors sit in the same exact place. And both pedestal mounts are the same part number. If there was a difference in k members you'd think that one of our motors wouldn't be sitting right, or the pedestals wouldn't mount up to one of them.

Re: New IROC Boost

You remember when taking the old mounts off, they were almost hanging off the front of the K-member. Tubular K's dont have this many holes, only 4 per whatever engine is was designed for. So putting the Spohn stands on a SBC K-member would bring it forward. Swapping them for standard SBC mounts and the 1" setback adapter plate will move the engine back to the stock location but interferes with his AC comrpessor
