Re: New IROC Boost

That is nice. Looks like something I would attempt to do if I had my unit outa the tank to play with.

Make it for Twin Bosh 044 and you should be fine. Figure each is rated at 600-700 hp. So it will be close in a boosted app.

PM me Info on this setup. ( An size , feed , return , etc... ) & what your looking to get outa this setup. I might be interested.

Beautiful work under that hood! Really like your choice on those wheels as well, they make your car look down right mean ... like it is.

From watching your vids I am getting addicted to the sound of turbo spool. If you decide to start fabbing the hot side, put me on your list.

Won't cutting out the radiator support really loosen up the frame?

I don't really think so. The sway bar and wonder bar still tie the frame together and what we cut out was really flimsy stuff. We will be welding stainless steel back in though like the tube there and then reinforcing it around the bumper, then making a new cover plate to bolt in. Should be fine... I hope

LOL this build has been the last couple years so in that time I've had all those cars. I just sold my Teal camaro to Stevo on the forums so I can buy another 91 Z28. I traded the green 91 vette for that teal Z28, and traded a twin turbo Lexus gs300 for the vette. I Also just sold a 88 jeep I had a few days ago. I also just got a couple Ls1 camaro's to part out, I gotta pick those up next week. My benz is for sale as I want something diffrent. So as soon as that sells, I have a certain black Z28 to buy. LOL but yea since i was 17 I've had 15 or so thirdgens and a couple 4th gens with a few other cars mixed in...

Damn man lookin good...just to let you know most likely i will be starting a ls1/t56 swap on the teal Z. That or transfer some parts over to the white one. Waiting for that tax return to decide everything. Will be looking for a lead on a ls1/t56 drop out.

looking good! looks like you have plenty of space to keep that turbo from heating things up! Having your intercooler right behind the grill completely open like that, did your intecooler ever get damaged? The guys that are working on my car right now are mounting my intercooler exactly like yours, but i am worried that i need some type of screen especially since it is a custom intercooler.

Intercooler has been on the car for about 6 years and never had a problem, now it'll be pushed about 4 inchs forward from where it was in order to make room for the new radiator placement.

Hood latch? What's that? Lol. Aerocatchs will be ordered soon. My buddy has a 2000 Z28 on the gas bolt on auto car went 11.20s so I know how fast they can be. End goal would be 8s in this car but we will see

Thanks its been alot of work over the last 3 years. Lol at VA speed nobody here touches them guys now. Lots of problems as of late. But the turn er you are probably talking about that worked there for a bit was Ed Hutchings. He's actually a good buddy of mine. He works magic with any automotive computer.

Re: New IROC Boost

ha funny story, i almost got Va Speed to build my turbo motor but isntead i got a local performance shop to do it. Theyve done alot of forced induction and na for my buddies so i chose them. Good luck on your build it should be fun. i like the color of your car i have a 89 trans am with a similar color but a bit lighter mine has a forged 383 sbc instead of a ls but also with a precision turbo.

You have no clue. Just pulled the T56 out today to get ready for the 4L80E and pulled the wiring harness out to re-loom it in the Nylon? loom like comes on new cars. To top it off relized today that the motor mounts that have been in my car for the last 6+ years made the motor sit crooked in the car. Ugh.

Re: New IROC Boost

if it took 6 years to notice it can't be that bad can it? lol I just found a freckle on my back that has somehow eluded me for 40 years but doubt that I'll be rushing to the plastic surgeon. That's all in good humor brother. Just sayin.

True but at this point and with time and money spent, it kinda pisses me off. I mean its not that hard to make sure your swap mounts make the motor sit right.

Re: New IROC Boost

Cut up my 4L80E to make it fit in the tunnel. Should drop it off in the next day or two to get it built, Now all I need is a shifter and I can get that part done. Finally feel like I'm making a little headway.
