Re: Blakes LSx swap - pic/vid heavy
Thanx everyone! She takes up most of my time these days...
I installed what was left of my suspension over the weekend. Nothing Major, PHB relocation, LCA relocation, Jegster TQ arm. Everything on my car is UMI, but I went with the Founders PHB + LCA relocation and saved myself nearly $170. I ended up using "Movetech" front suspension / steering linkage and saving almost $200 vs MOOG.
I ditched the MOOG springs in favor of eibach sportlines. No matter what I did, the MOOG springs did not fit!
I still do not know if I'm going to be using a UMI K-member. They did not offer one when I started the build, but with the above savings + if I sale my Spohn monts and new Poly mounts and clamshells (UMI has a solid mount so I will not need)... That's more than half of the costs of the UMI K-member. For this street build, I don't know if it's worth it...
Here is what was left over
JEGSTER Torque Arm. Again, UMI didn't offer a Xmember mounted TQ arm for a T56. I didn't want to mix brands and I already have a Hawks Xmember so I went with this tunnel mounted TA. Installation was easy for me because I already have the Driveshaft and interior out of the car.
After I put the TA together, I spent about 30 min drilling holes in the floor to mount the bracket. It was super easy. Not quite sure if I like it yet, but so far it seems nice.

I forgot all about this thread. I wrote a scrip that should have removed all of my posts. I've just been busy.
Sense I started this thread I've moved twice. My landlord gives me a really hard time about working on the car, so it just sits there.
This is how you saw it last
Here it is now... Not much has changed. I installed a LS7 clutch kit, put on the headers, completed the cold air intake, installed a 3 core radiator, installed fans, installed the Clutch master, finished up the harness and had the PCM tuned.
The car doesn't look dramatically different, just a tad more complete.

I also have a UMI K-member that has not been installed. They didn't offer this when I ordered my suspension. Because it has solid mounts, it makes the Sphon swap mounts and new poly bushings kind of a waste. I also have a X-pipe w/ dual electric cutouts, borla mufflers and Redline Gauges that have not been installed.
I painted the interior all red, I still don't have the seats done but they will be red too. I will post some pix when it get it installed.
