ecm mounting

i have been searching around, but not really finding what i am looking for. does anyone have pics of their ecm mounting solution? i kinda wanted to put it up in the dash like the old one, but it looks like it wont fit. i thought some guys had it there, though. also, has anyone hidden it in the passenger wheelwell, kinda right under the inner fender? i think i may tuck it into there, but how should it be held down if i do? thanks, nick

If you remove the original cruise module and bracket, the new LSx PCM will fit up in the old ECM's spot perfectly. Im using a piece of solid core wire to hold it up in there. No gripes so far

Some lay it flat on top of the hush panel, also fine, it just makes the hush panel hang down slightly

I doubt it would fit in the fender well C5 location, maybe up front under the battery tray

ok, so if i do it that way, what about the exhaust? doesn't that put the harness real close to the exhaust? if i got it into the fenderwell, it'd be pretty protected from heat. but i haven't seen anyone on here that actually did that, just some speculation about it.

Re: ecm mounting

I have my LS1 PCM mounted exactly where the old ECM was. I even modded my old plastic bracket to hold it. As Pocket said loose the cruise module and it will fit. Dean

I ran my harness a little different than most. I ran mine exactly like the stock TBI harness. I even used the bulkhead type connector that goes in the kick panel. I too was concerned with exhaust heat and maybe water getting through the hole that most people saw in there floor. When people see the harness they think it came that way. Are you doing your own harness work? If so you can mount the PCM almost any where you like. I don't like the PCM or wires too close to heat though. Later, Dean.
