PCV Question... with pics

I installed my LS1 PCV hose an am left with this hose and I have no idea where it goes?

and a closeup:

Also I finished my intake, complete with K&N branding sticker lol, and my ypipe. Yes the ypipe has more welds / bends than necessary, but I was trying to keep it as close to the car and as far from the ground as possible. Hopefully my cats are close enough as well, I couldnt' seem to find room anywhere else without sacrificing ground clearance.

Did you tie both sides in together behind the intake?

Re: PCV Question... with pics

The line comes out of the drivers side valve cover, runs behind the intake, then tee's off into two lines. One goes to the PCV valve / TB and the other just ends (the one shown).

Re: PCV Question... with pics

i ran out and looked at my 02. from what i could see (2am) there are 2 lines that come out of the passenger side valve cover. one in the front to the throttle body and one at the rear that goes in to the line that goes around the back. To me it looks like the one that goes in to the rear port of the passenger side valve cover.

im not sure what engine you are running but that was my 02 ls1. i dont believe my 03 LQ9 had two ports on the passenger side valve cover just the 1. so that may be why you think you have a road to nowhere. just an idea. hope i could be of some help

It looks to me like you have the clean side hooked up to the PCV but its difficult to tell in that pic. This link has all the correct routing for PCV and obviously if your not running a catch can that line goes to the same ports minus the can of course.

Looks like you missed/dont have the rear port on the pass valve cover. In cam's link to 'tech it's labeled "block off this port". Fbodys had it, trucks and nearly all other LSx engines didnt have it

You can skip that clunky stock PCV setup for a very simple truck style without sacrificing function

Heres the two tubes that make up my PCV system. Super common PCV 90* fitting for the drivers valve cover and a short length of 3/8 hose for the pass

Long one from the drivers valve cover wraps behind the intake and hits the port in the intake neck behind the TB. Pass cover port goes to the TB

Simple, effective, cheap and looks very clean. You can still incorporate a catch can into the system by lengthening the lines. I didnt need it, my consumption was about 1/2 qt per oil change which is normal for any SBC. Dealers offered "fixed orifice" PCVs that replaced the one way valve in the PCV with a solid plate with a 1/16" hole drilled in it. It's supposed to further drop the oil consumption and rattles but I have no experience with it. They only offer them with a strait neck which would run right into the wiper motor. Any fixed port would have to be built by you, but plastic ports are common so fill it full of epoxy and drill the hole

Sounds good Jon, too bad I spent like 90 bucks on the LS1 PCV line.
