LOST!...
I just recently purchased a 6.0 from a 07' Escalade. I want to put this in my 88' Iroc (350/auto). If you look at my album I have a few pictures showing what I am up against. I removed the engine and dash harness to fix since they were hacked up. I am pretty much lost on what to do next. I have schematics for both harness' and feel comfortable working with them but I have questions regarding the swap.
Will the same engine harness work with the 6.0?
Will i need to get a new/different computer?
The connectors between the engine harness and the dash harness is melted (see album) is it done for? do i have to replace the whole harness or can that one piece be replaced?
I am also looking to install a t56 with the 6.0 will there be any additional changes to either harness for that? or do you just route the gear selector wires to a different spot?
and which motor mounts will work.
As you can tell I have never done this before. I haven't done a job quite this extensive and I have a ton more questions on top of this.
Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Re: LOST!...
Mounting this will be the exact same as any LS1, LQ4, et cetera. You can either buy a tubular K, or you can just get the pads and brackets. You'll need to swap the oil pan either way.

The transmission wires will stay with the engine/PCM harness. No need to route them through the chassis harness.
I'd say get an LS1/T56 harness, but I'm not sure about details such as the crank sensor (LS1 is 24 tooth, and LQ9, I believe, is 58 tooth).
Your melted connector would probably best be handled with new harnesses. Depends upon how much damage there was.

Re: LOST!...
Actually, 24x or 58x is a matter of year. In mid '05 they made the transition. Yours will be 58x just because it is an '07. LQ9 has nothing to do with it.

I agree with 57kid, get a new dash harness especially if it's hacked AND Melted. Grab an LS1/T56 harness and have Pocket rework it as needed.

First, you can automatically know its 24x because its an iron 6.0L (LQ4/LQ9). With the switch to GEN IV, the 6.2L replaced the LQx series
Second, you can tell this engine is both an 06 or older and GEN III just by looking at the timing cover. Smooth timing cover = GEN III 24x, cam sensor on the timing cover = GEN IV 58x. Also, look at the sides. GEN III had knock sensors in the valley, GEN IV in the traditional position on the sides of the block just above the skirts. If you personally knew the truck it was pulled from is indeed was an 07, check the VIN, its a VERY early year built during the end of 06. If not, Id question if the seller simply labeled a LQ4 as a LQ9 for a few extra bucks, such is common. Hard to tell without a boroscope or pulling a head
Now that all that mumbo jumbo is out of the way, read over the LS1 swap sticky up top. Theres also a good link for using a truck engine for the LSx swap and whats required to make it fit (pan/replated, accys, intake, exhaust, block holes, etc)
Harness selection really doesnt make much difference what you start with unless you are looking for minimal effort in the rewire job. For a complete overhaul you just need the new connectors for what you're changing
Also, wheres the damaged connector? You've got lots of pics of the 3rd gen C100 which is supposed to be covered in that nasty brown goop. Yours is missing the main harness cover, but it simply keeps the sludge stuff in and the dirt out, no biggie without it, just ugly. Find one on any 3rd gen in the yard. It simply snaps on. I see no obvious burn spots elsewhere

Re: LOST!...
Pocket, the 2nd picture in my album of the (C100 connector)<--think that is what you called it. On the inside where the pins are it seems like the plastic melted because all of that gunk is hard as a rock. I could be wrong but it definitely ain't pretty.
Thanks Pocket and all you guys for the useful knowledge!
