a couple race vids, spirited driving vids, and a surprise
This is all from an fbody cruise I was on today with my local club. We had about 25 cars or so, and I think the total distance for me was about 150 miles. Anyways, here we go:
The surprise is an epic fail.
I was racing a friend's '02 SS vert, 408ci with AFR 225's, FAST intake, big cam, T56, etc.... and what do you know, I was going too fast for my spoiler and it came off the trunk lid at 110mph. Luckily it was still holding on by a little metal tab at the very end on the driver side, the thing was inches from dragging the ground on the highway. I pulled over and had to rip it completely off and throw it in my trunk.

Unfortunately I didn't get our first race on video. It was actually pretty close, which surprised the heck out of my friend and I both equally. I'm cam-only at 364ci, he's cam/heads/intake at 408ci, but his car is a bit heavier than mine...still though, I'm shocked. He pulled on me I'd say no more than 1 1/2 car lengths from 3rd and 4th gears.
The second race we did though, he took the bump on me and shot out in front, although he didn't get very far. We both let off early and this is when a friend rolls up and says my spoiler is about to fall off the car.

This race literally shocked the heck out of me and my friend driving his red '96 LT1 SS... it's a T56 car with ported stock heads, ported stock intake, BIG cam, and 355ci I believe. The thing rolls out, as you can tell by the results of this race. His car is just about gutted as far as he can make it without getting uncomfortable driving it as a street car. So he has a significant weight advantage over me, but still I was very impressed.

And the next two videos are just taken while driving through town to take my passenger home from the cruise. There's a few stints of spirited driving in there, just wanted you guys to hear how she sounds when in motion. During the end of the first video I think I got a little air, forgot about the huge hump in the middle of the road as I speed up towards it.

Looks like it is running pretty damn good. My stock Trex cammed LQ4 is at my buddies back bumper in his 02 SS with a AFR headed 383. Damn things run their asses off for next to nothing man.

Yea I know, I can't wait to get some better flowing heads and a FAST intake/tb combo, the thing should roll out pretty good then.

Well you should be running faster now without the spoiler! Less drag and less weight.

Ehh I Doubt it, i bet there's more drag with all that glue and crap sticking up off the trunk lid. And the spoiler was in my back seat so no weight savings, besides it only weighs a couple pounds haha
