I finally got this bad boy in yesterday. Downloaded a new start up program turned the key and she fired right up. The oil pressure at start up was 65 pounds and once she settled down purred like a kitten. But my oil pressure never dropped below 60 pounds. Any we let it idle 4 a while u know checking 4 leaks and anything else. Oil pressure never dropped. So we started to give a little throttle and it climbed up to 85 pounds. I said forget this I don't even wanna see if its gonna stablize out or climb higher. We let it idle for another hour or so and it never dropped below 60 pounds. To me this is too high of oil pressure and mixed with a hi volume pump, what do you guys think? Running a 30 weight in it just for startup, I know I can run a thinner oil and drop it a little. But how much is too much oil pressure for a non race engine? And what can I do?
