So I'm getting ready to drop the pan on my ls1 since I managed to drop a lifter while swapping the camshaft. Do I need a new gasket or is it reusuable like alot of the other ls1 gaskets????

Thanks, I kind of found that out when I bought the new gasket. Crazy looking oil pan gasket and I see why it should be replaced.

lf they are the stock orange gaskets, absolutely replace them.

Re: Ls1 oil pan question
Before you put the oil pan gasket on, make sure you add a small blob of silicone on the gasket seams (x4) where the front and rear covers meet up with the block. This will ensure a leak free seal of the oil pan gasket.
