Hey guys my l98/700r4 in my 87 iroc is on its last leg, so I've decided to swap in a lt1/t56 out of my 96 z28.just thought I would make a build thread.will be updating in the next few days with progress.

hey everyone cant believe its already been a month.well i finally started last weekend got the motor and trans out of the car so far and have started to repaint the engine bay.i will get pics up as soon as i can figure how to get them off my phone.

Alot of you post help me get through my wiring with the lt1, you and pocket and i could list a bunch of others who took part into making my life so simple. I just want to say i love you guys great work.

Got the engine and trans in last night motor fits very nice.now on to the dreaded wiring harness.more pics to come.

Hey guys got the clutch pedals mounted.and as far as the wiring goes would it be easier to use the whole body harness from the 4th gen and just eliminate all the third gen wiring? I have the whole harness from the car.just seems like it would be easier just to plug everything in rather than splice wires and repin connectors.also would i still need the computer reprogrammed if i decide to go that route?

If you re-wired the tail light connectors and such it would probably work great. The car would then think its a 4th gen completely.
